Snake Skin : The New Trend Everyone Is Wearing

With the recent animal print for Fall trend such as : leopard, tiger, zebra and the latest snakeskin, I thought I'd finally give one of them a try. I haven't really been into patterns before; I was more of a stripes/plain clothing kinda gal. But that changed this year with the addition of floral patterns and now the snake skin print. What I love about the trend is how versatile it is. There is a vast array of colours in different types of prints.

My Instagram feed is filled with fashion girls who I follow for inspiration, and every time I'm on the app, I see at least one girl wearing some kind of snake skin clothing/accessory. From a blouse to over the knee boots, snake skin patterns are taking over.

I will link down below some other amazing and affordable snake print clothing and accessory I found online and also my outfit details. I think it's just unbelievable to what extent this trend has taken over everything.

Toronto Christmas Market 2018

The magic of the Christmas season at the Toronto Christmas Market is beyond amazing, and I got to experience it this year. I am definitely making it a tradition to go every year. Hosted for the 9th time at the Distillery History District, the festival includes local vendors, amazing food and drinks, Christmas carolers, and stunning light displays. You can also enjoy family-friendly activities such as Santa and the elves, children's storytelling, a ferris wheel, a carousel, and at the center of it all, a gigantic Christmas tree.

The festival is free on weekdays until Friday at 5pm except Monday (closed) and a $6 entry fee on weekends starting at 5pm on Fridays. The Toronto Christmas Market is running till Dec 23rd this year. Go rediscover the magic of Christmas and enjoy an amazing atmosphere with your friends, family or your loved one.

However you celebrate the holiday season, I hope you truly enjoy and savor it. And may it bring you love, happiness and everything that you've ever wished for.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone!

1 Item 5 Ways : Black Turtle Neck

Something I've always scouted for, was a nice thin basic black turtle neck; mostly to use as a layer in the winter time. I found this one from ZARA at the beginning of Fall, and I'm obsessed. I have probably worn it more than 30 times already. l have styled it in different ways, and I just love how the outfit turns out all the time.

I've been on the fence about getting the burgundy and/or the white one, because I'm trying to be a responsible adult and not spend too much on unnecessary things. I hope you like how I styled it and let me know if you guys think I should go back to the store and get the other colours?

Let me know which one is your favourite and if you like this kind of blog post? I'm thinking of turning this into it's own category on the blog

The Body Shop Products Review

Hi guys! First of all, let me just say that I have been a fan of the Body Shop ever since I moved to Canada. I pretty much own all of their Tea Tree Oil products (face mask, night cream, drops, and cleanser). I am always restocking on my favourite moisturizer Vitamin E, and I absolutely love their body butters. So to partner with them to review these products, was a HUGE thing for me.

Secondly, let me tell you how awkward it was for me to pick up these products from the store. I wasn't sure what to say since I've never done anything like this before. Initially, I walked into the store and told one of the associates that I'm here to pick up a package, and she immediately thought that I ordered something online and came to pick it up. It took her some time to realize, but she finally called her manager who knew what to do.

I thought I was only going to receive a little something to post a picture of, but OMG they gave me so much to review and comment on. At that moment, upon receiving everything, I felt very overwhelmed.

Being such a perfectionist, wanting to do everything right, I instantly starting checking out the work of some of the other bloggers out there, and realized that I'm going to have to be creative about taking a photo of the products. I realized that I needed a colour palette for the photo, so I grouped all the yellow products together and all the pink ones together, and started looking for some props to use them with.

I hope you like the photos, and that the review helps you get an idea of how amazing their products are.

Before we get started, here's a breakdown of all the products I received :
1. British Rose Collection Premium Set ($46)
2. Vanilla Marshmallow Delights Festive Sack ($28)
3. Chinese Ginseng & Rice Clarifying and Polishing Face Mask ($28)
4. Vanilla Marshmallow Body Butter 200ml ($21)
5. Coconut Beautifying Dry Oil for Body, Face and Hair ($16)
6. Banana Truly Nourishing Hair Mask ($16)
7. Coco Calming Face Mist ($10)
8. Lipstick

SCENT : British Rose
The first thing I chose was this British Rose Set. I went with this particular scent because I am already addicted to their British Rose Face Mask, and I knew I was going to absolutely love the collection even more. Everything in this collection has such an unbelievable amazing and strong Rose flower smell.
I have incorporated the British Rose body yoghurt into my everyday routine. I use it in the morning when I'm mostly running late as it absorbs in seconds.

I cannot live without a hand moisturizer, especially during Winter time. I moisturize like crazy. I keep the British Rose moisturizer at my work place and constantly use it. What I absolutely love about theses hand moisturizers is that even though I'll wash my hands, the scent pleasantly remains. So, if I ever forget to moisturize after washing my hands, it still smells fabulous and feels extraordinary.

As for the shower gel, from what I've used in just one week of using, you could probably tell how much I am loving it. I have always loved a good scented shower gel. I had been obsessed with the Watermelon Yves Rocher Shower Gel but unfortunately it has been discontinued months ago. Luckily I think that I might have found a new favourite one, the British Rose shower gel.

Vanilla Marshmallow, is my new favourite thing. Again, just like the British Rose one, this has been added to my everyday routine. I carry this hand moisturizer in my winter jacket's pocket, as it has become my favourite. I finished the mini shower gel in 3 days and then moved on to the British Rose one. I love the body butter so much that I gave my Strawberry one a break and instantly started using this one. I mainly use the body butter after a nice long shower at night. I just love how smooth and moisturized my legs feel before going to sleep.

The Chinese Ginseng together with my favourite British Rose face mask has been a great combination. The Chinese Ginseng face mask works amazingly on some parts of my face to remove unevenness in my skin. It's an exfoliator face mask, leaving my skin with glowing and fresh skin. I use it on my chin area, on my forehead and on the apples of my cheeks. Combining both the Chinese Ginseng face mask and the British Rose face mask, allows to treat the dark circles underneath my eyes and the unevenness of my skin.

I haven't gotten the chance to try every single product, but so far, everything that I have used, I have loved (probably because I love the scent so much, it automatically makes me love the product).
To finish, I wanted to thank @thebodyshop for giving me the opportunity to try some of their new products, and to review them. I am also happy to report that Vanilla Marshmallow products such as the body butter and the shower gel will definitely be kept in my routine for now.

I hope you liked this blog post and that it was helpful for you and hopefully we can all be body shop users together.

Affordable Holiday Gift Guide

I know I'm a bit early, but since Black Friday is this week and Cyber Monday is right around the corner, I thought I would get a head start by purchasing some of my gifts and saving some money at the same time. Being from a Muslim family, I have not celebrated or participated in the Christmas spirit ever... but this year is different, since my friends and I have decided to buy each other presents for Christmas. Even though I don't celebrate the holiday, the thought of Christmas does bring a sense of togetherness, family and love.

Being a student, I am definitely on a budget. Being thrifty nowadays, I have done my research and looked for gifts ranging between $5- $50. I came up with this Ultimate Affordable Gift Guide! Fall’s back with Plaid

Mini plaid skirts have become an essential layering piece of clothing in my wardrobe. Since the beginning of the year, I vowed to try new and different things, and plaid was definitely one of the new things I've tried and I am loving it! I found this beautiful red plaid pleated skirt at H&M and it was on SALE. There was only one left and it was my size! So, I just decided that it was just meant to be, and got it for as cheap as $15.

These photos were shot about a week ago and it's just crazy how the weather has drastically changed since. The weather was nice and chilly enough for me to style the plaid skirt with a black crop top shirt, and some see through tights and as you've seen repeatedly on the blog, my OTK boots from ALDO.

It was a very gloomy day when we shot this, so I had to play a little with the editing to make these pictures pop.
I hope you guys enjoy this look!

Fall in Plaid

Happy 1st Blog Anniversary to me! On this day last year, I posted my first blog and my life has changed ever since. I have learned so much and I have developed a real passion for this little blog of mine. And I want to thank you all for being on this journey with me.

I randomly love going on my site to see my content. It inspires me to find new ideas, and I like how cute and neat everything looks, but most importantly, I like how everything is finally up-to-date and fully functional (it was definitely a struggle).

I have learned a lot during this past year. I try to look at things from different perspectives in order to come up with interesting content for you. I've read tons of blog posts, and I have been inspired to do so much more. I have traveled and discovered so much. I have read articles, listened to podcasts, watched hundreds of YouTube videos. I just love how exhilarating and educating the blogger community has been for me.

When I look back at my posts from last year, I feel like I have improved on creating better quality content on the blog, as well as on my Instagram. For sure, I still have so much to learn, but I promise, I have so many cool ideas coming your way soon.

I specifically chose this outfit because it's a replica of my very first blog outfit. Ever since, I have learned to better edit my pictures, by playing with the lighting and some of the colours. I find it so therapeutic to edit my photos: I pretty much do it whenever I have some free time (on the bus, while watching TV, or in between my classes). You can definitely see the difference in my photos now compared to back then.
P.s: Scroll all the way to the bottom to see one of the photos from last year.

All my photos have been taken from my iPhone X and the quality from my phone camera is pretty decent. But I have my eyes set on the perfect camera, that I am hoping to get by the end of this year or maybe beginning of next year (depending on how broke I am LOL)

Anyway, back to the outfit, this is probably one of my favourite outfits to wear during fall. It's just perfect for this season; a plaid flannel dress shirt with an over the knee boots. As easy and as simple as that! I am not a morning person , so this outfit is my go-to. You will definitely find me wearing this look all the time. Like I said, I like it simple (if you didn't know that by now)

Sweater Weather

Welcome back everyone! If you're from Canada, you already know that it's starting to feel like fall now even though the weather has been so confusing these last few days. Fall for me means that I get to reorganize my closet and pull out all my favourite sweaters. And this specific one definitely makes it to my Top 3 list. I own this sweater in all the different colours that were available in the H&M store : royal blue, burgundy, grey, and olive green. And I love them ALL!

I recently saw a mustard and light pink version of this sweater in their store but I didn't get a chance to get my hands on them since the lineup was too crazy but rest assured, I will be going back for them! This sweater has such an amazing texture; is not too thick and not too thin, making it perfect to wear for fall or to pair with a jacket during winter.
It's loose, comfortable, cute and has an affordable price tag. They're $14.99!

For this look, I paired this olive green knit sweater with my comfortable black skinny jeans from DKNY, my favourite black Over The Knee boots from ALDO and my old western faux leather from Urban Planet (which I have totally been obsessed with BTW).

Summer Dress

Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian readers! I am absolutely loving this Canadian holiday since it coincides with my reading week and I could really use a break from university right now! Well technically, I still have assignments to get done, and I still have some studying to catch up on, but I am more than happy to break away from my daily student routine...

I can't believe it's October already! This is the season for pumpkin spice lattes, fall-coloured leaves, cozy knit sweaters, knee-length boots and everything fall-related. It's unbelievable how quickly time flies! I swear feel like 2018 just started; how are stores selling 2019 calendars and planners already?
With fall rolling-on, even though the weather is all over the place, and I am officially having summer blues, I am glad that it was nice enough yesterday for me to wear this beautiful dress.

About this dress, I bought from Tahari at Hudson Bay. I fell in love with it the minute I tried it on. But the price tag totally ripped my heart off, even though the dress was on SALE. I initially debated if I should keep the dress or not, but I mean, it fits me like a glove. It's like this dress was made just for ME! It's sleeveless and has this perfect flow to it, and it wraps perfectly around my waist. The length is just perfect; not too long and not too short either. And it has this soft texture to it.

I paired this dress with my block ALDO heels in black and did a simple French braid. And to be honest, no other accessory was needed because the dress complements itself.

Based on my recent Instagram poll, 85 % of you voted "YES" to seeing my favourite makeup products, so here you go!
I use most of these products daily and being a VIB Rouge member from Sephora, I always take advantage of their free express shipping and definitely stock up on these.

1. Sephora Waterproof Eyeliner
2. Yves Saint Laurent Mascara
3. Urban Decay Mascara
4. Bare Minerals Lipstick in Scandal
5. Urban Decay Primer
6. Urban Decay Setting Spray
7. Tartelette in Bloom Clay Eyeshadow Palette
8. Laura Mercier Face Illuminator Powder
9. Benefit Cosmetics Hoola Bronzer
10. Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette
1. Sephora Waterproof Eyeliner
I can't wear makeup without eyeliner anymore, it looks super weird on me now. I love using this eyeliner because (1) it's waterproof (2) The pen allows precise, nice and smooth strokes.

2. Yves Saint Laurent Mascara
Mascara is a MUST for me! My friend gifted me this one last year for my birthday, and I have been obsessed with it ever since! I have pretty long eyelashes (naturally), and this mascara adds the perfect volume to them. Since last year, I have already bought and used two more of these; it's definitely worth the investment.

3. Urban Decay Mascara
This was the first ever mascara I bought from Sephora and I would 100% recommend it. It's such an amazing product. I always go back and forth between this one and the Yves Saint Laurent one. The only downside for both mascaras is that they are both non-waterproof. But, I have never had any issues whatsoever in terms of humidity. And LADIES, if you'll cry while wearing these, your eyes will turn completely black. So, just to recap, these are amazing, just don't cry, because why do it, right?

4. Bare Minerals Lipstick in Scandal
This is my everyday and most worn lipstick! My obsession with this lipstick is unbelievable! I actually own 3 of them: I keep one at home, I keep one in my bag and I always have one in stock just in case I run out of the two. I think it's the perfect shade; it's neither a nude nor a bold colour. It's a shade in the midst, and it makes it perfect to be worn for any casual occasions, it goes perfectly with any outfit I'm wearing! Also the consistency is amazing! It's not drying/matte, it keeps your lips moisturized throughout the day!
I have gifted this lipstick to my friends for their birthdays  and they absolutely loved it too!

5. Urban Decay Primer
I have recently started including primers , and I can definitely see the difference that it makes. I love how smooth and natural my foundation looks after a layer of primer. This Urban Decay Primer actually has a coconut smell, and it makes my skin feel SO fresh and rejuvenated!

6. Urban Decay Setting Spray
Setting Spray is a must for any makeup look for me! If you live in Canada, you know why! It's either too hot or too cold here. I need my makeup to stay put for as long as possible and this Urban Decay Setting Spray gets the job done! Even when I'm in university or work for a whole day, my makeup stays perfect; no touch-ups needed. Plus, I love not having foundation stains on my shirts/dresses.

7. Tartelette in Bloom Clay Eye shadow Palette
This my everyday eye shadow palette. I am not an expert in eye makeup, so I usually go with the softer shades and an easy and quick eye makeup. Pretty much just one colour in the crease and a tad bit of glitter and I'm all set!
This palette has amazing shades for my skin tones, I use almost all the colours equally depending on my mood each day. But my favourite shade from this palette is 'rebel'.
And since they are all warm colours, now that Fall is here, I am definitely going to be killing it with the Fall inspired makeup looks.

8. Laura Mercier Face Illuminator Powder
I bought this highlighter during Sephora's recent sale and I am officially hooked! Just a little goes a long way! The glow is unbelievable, You can check out my recent Instagram selfies and see for yourself!

9. Benefit Cosmetics Hoola Bronzer
I use this everyday! I NEVER contour, mostly because I do not know how to. Ever since I started wearing makeup, I have been using the Benefit Cosmetics Hoola Bronzer. It is a perfect shade for my complexion.
If I'm being lazy, I'll even use it for my eye makeup in the crease!

10. Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette
I remember when this palette came out, everyone was obsessed with it! I have to admit I am one of those obsessed users. I bought it the day that it was available and I fell in love with it as soon as I got it in the mail. It has some of the most beautiful warm tones and it's so pigmented. I love how well they colours compliment my skin tone. This palette is so versatile, you can easily create so many different looks with it and I would say it's the perfect palette to use for a night out, or a fancy dinner. I love everything about it! It even comes with a double ended brush which definitely comes in handy.

That's all I have for today, and I am not kidding when I say that I ALWAYS have these 10 products in my makeup bag, and they have completely changed how I do my makeup! Hope you guys enjoyed this post. Let me know if you guys love any of these products as well in the comments and why or even if you want to try any of these. I would love to find out more!
